Bio

In Good Spirit was formed by three students at Groningen’s Minerva Art Academy, later joined by two more, becoming a five-piece band from five different countries. The result is a dark, feverish folk project fronted by two distinctly different voices that still manage to seamlessly blend together. Favoring expression and honesty over perfection, they recorded their debut album ‘Comfort on its Knees’ live.

“Their music is reminiscent of acts like Bon Iver, The Beatles, and Karen O. From sunny days to chilly autumn days, In Good Spirit guarantees a dreamy getaway.” simplon.nl

Comfort on its Knees

2025

“Their debut album Comfort on its Knees was released on October 15 and, in my opinion, it’s one of the strongest records to come out of Groningen this year. So grab your raincoat and boots, order a bokbier, and warm yourself up with the alt-folk sounds of In Good Spirit — I can’t wait.” Hugo Heinen, vera-groningen.nl
